Timber Pitbull Featuring Ke$ha Video, Lyrics & Review

Lyrics

 "Timber"
(feat. Ke$ha)

[Ke$ha]
It's going down, I'm yelling timber
You better move, you better dance
Let's make a night you won't remember
I'll be the one you won't forget

Wooooah (timber), wooooah (timber), wooooah (it's going down)
Wooooah (timber), wooooah (timber), wooooah (it's going down)

[Pitbull]
The bigger they are, the harder they fall
These big-iddy boys are dig-gidy dogs
I have 'em like Miley Cyrus, clothes off
Twerking in their bras and thongs, timber
Face down, booty up, timber
That's the way we like to–what?–timber
I'm slicker than an oil spill
She say she won't, but I bet she will, timber

Swing your partner round and round
End of the night, it's going down
One more shot, another round
End of the night, it's going down
Swing your partner round and round
End of the night, it's going down
One more shot, another round
End of the night, it's going down

[Ke$ha]
It's going down, I'm yelling timber
You better move, you better dance
Let's make a night you won't remember
I'll be the one you won't forget

It's going down (it's going down), I'm yelling timber
You better move (you better move), you better dance (you better dance)
Let's make a night you won't remember
I'll be the one you won't forget (you won't forget)

Wooooah (timber), wooooah (timber), wooooah (it's going down)
Wooooah (timber), wooooah (timber), wooooah (it's going down)

[Pitbull]
Look up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane
Nah, it's just me, ain't a damn thing changed
Live in hotels, swing on planes
Blessed to say, money ain't a thing
Club jumping like LeBron now, Volí
Order me another round, homie
We about to clown. Why? 'Cause it's about to go down

Swing your partner round and round
End of the night, it's going down
One more shot, another round
End of the night, it's going down
Swing your partner round and round
End of the night, it's going down
One more shot, another round
End of the night, it's going down

[Ke$ha]
It's going down, I'm yelling timber
You better move, you better dance
Let's make a night you won't remember
I'll be the one you won't forget

It's going down (it's going down), I'm yelling timber
You better move, you better dance (you better dance)
Let's make a night (let's make a night) you won't remember
I'll be the one (I'll be the one) you won't forget (you won't forget)

Wooooah wooooah (hey), wooooah (it's going down)
Wooooah wooooah (timber), wooooah (it's going down)

Wooooah (timber), wooooah, wooooah (it's going down)
Wooooah (timber), wooooah (you won't forget), wooooah (timber)

Review

No current top pop artist does mindless dancefloor fun better than Pitbull.  Yes, "Timber" would be impossible without the influence of Avicii's boundary pushing "Wake Me Up," and it's not as artful, but this song is an outstanding party track.  Ke$ha joins the party singing the chorus, and she brings along Dr. Luke and Cirkut to help produce.  The relative newcomer for mainstream pop is British producer Sermstyle.  He's only 25, but he's already worked with top level rappers Wiz Khalifa and Kendrick Lamar.

The most obvious unique element to "Timber" is that wailing harmonica.  Avicii has taught us that country and folk sounds are not incompatible with today's electronic dance music.  Pitbull adds a, "Swing your partner round and round" refrain to turn the whole record into some sort of dance pop hoedown.  Lyrically, there is not a lot new here.  Ke$ha carries the call to the dance floor, while Pitbull continues to enjoy talking about himself.  He does mention twerking and Miley Cyrus and then delivers one of his best self-celebratory lines yet.  "Look up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane. No, it's just me, ain't a damn thing changed."

Pitbull is gearing up to deliver an eighth studio album sometime in 2014.  With the massive worldwide success of "Feel This Moment" fresh in the minds of pop fans, "Timber" finds himself merrily continuing on his international party pop path.  Ke$ha is the one who has a lot to gain from this track.  Her commercial success has trailed off badly with her last two singles failing to sell a million copies.  Ke$ha sounds great here, and the song is as much hers as it is Pitbull's.  Get ready to be yelling, "Timber!" in the club.
